About Dr. Shirzadi

Dr. Shirzadi is a Harvard trained, board certified adult psychiatrist and psychopharmacologist. Dr. Shirzadi received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Bachelor of Arts in History from UCLA in 1996. He subsequently attended Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO. 

He then completed a one year internship in internal medicine at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida. Dr. Shirzadi attended Harvard Medical School’s psychiatry residency program in Boston, MA from 2002-2004 and served as chief resident in psychiatry from 2004-2005.  He is a licensed physician in the state of California and has been board certified in psychiatry since 2006. His areas of research and expertise include mood disorders with an emphasis in bipolar disorder and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Dr. Shirzadi has published a number of peer reviewed articles in psychiatry and psychopharmacology and remains active in psychopharmacology research with regards to bipolar disorder. Dr. Shirzadi is an active member of various medical and psychiatric organizations.
